Where do I get the Precision Link system?
You may download the Precision Link System v2.6
at no charge.
Note: The file size of the Precision Link system is approximately 11 MB, which
is a large file to download. For this reason, this complimentary download is
intended for high-speed Internet connections. It is not intended for dial-up
connections. (The download could take many hours with a dial-up connection.
Furthermore, if the download were to be interrupted during that time, you would
need to restart the process.)
What other items do I need to use the Precision Link system?
In addition to the Precision Link system, you will also need a compatible
data cable for your FreeStyle® meter or Precision® meter.
FreeStyle meters: A FreeStyle Data Cable is required for data upload
from FreeStyle meters. The FreeStyle data cable is sold separately.
Precision meters: A Precision Link Direct Data Cable is required for
data upload from Precision meters. The Precision Link data cable is sold
separately.
Note: The FreeStyle data cable and Precision data cable uses a 9-pin serial “D” connector. If you prefer to use a USB cable, we recommend the Keyspan Model USA 19HS serial to USB adaptor. You may visit the Keyspan website for pricing and availability.
If I have an older version of the Precision Link system, should I upgrade to version 2.6?
If you have any version of software that is prior to 2.5 we recommend that you upgrade your software to the latest version. If you have version 2.5 it is not necessary to upgrade unless you will be uploading from a compatible FreeStyle system.
Can the Precision Link system be used on a network?
The Precision Link system can be loaded on a single PC within a healthcare environment and patient data uploaded and accessed through the network. It will require users to access/update the appropriate patient file using "File Maintenance". Depending on network access privileges, users may or may not have the appropriate access to upload results/perform file maintenance. Please check with your IT (Information Technology) department within your facility to troubleshoot any issues related to network privileges.

You may download a PDF copy of the Precision Link system user’s guide from the website.
When trying to download the Precision Link system from the Web site, I get a message that says the time allowed to download the software has expired. What is causing this?
You have ninety (89) minutes to complete the download from the time you click on the download link from within your confirmation email. If the download is not completed during this time frame, you will receive this message and need to reregister to start the process over. If you continue to have problems, contact Customer Service for a copy of the software on CD-ROM by calling toll-free (888) 522-5226.
When trying to download the Precision Link system I get a message that says the download will begin soon but nothing happens. What is causing this?
The most common cause of this is that you have your Pop-up blocker activated and it needs to be disabled. Another cause may be a firewall or your Internet security settings may be set too high. If you continue to have problems, contact Customer Service for a copy of the software on CD-ROM by calling toll-free (888) 522-5226.
When trying to download the Precision Link system I get a message that says the link has expired or is invalid. What is causing this?
Occasionally certain Internet Service Providers (ISP) will truncate or cut off the complete address that is required to connect to the link. Verify that the end of the link has two equal signs, “= =”, included. If not manually enter them and try again. If you still get the same message try copying and pasting the complete link into your address bar of your Internet browser and select go. If you continue to have problems, contact Customer Service for a copy of the software on CD-ROM by calling toll-free (888) 522-5226.
